Blazing Star Environmental offers two specialized training programs: the Ontario Reptile and Amphibian Survey Course and the Species at Risk Snake Habitat Course.
The Ontario Reptile and Amphibian Survey Course provides participants with an in-depth understanding of reptile and amphibian biology, behaviour, identification, habitat, and standardized survey techniques. Approximately half of the course involves classroom-based instruction, while the other half takes place in the field through hands-on learning. The course maintains a low instructor-to-participant ratio, approximately one instructor for every five participants, to ensure high-quality, personalized learning.
The Species at Risk Snake Habitat Course, taught by the authors of Best Management Practices for Identifying, Managing and Creating Habitat for Ontario’s Species at Risk Snakes, focuses on identifying, mitigating impacts to, and creating habitat for Ontario’s at-risk snake species through a combination of virtual lectures and field sessions.
