Blazing Star Environmental offers two specialized training programs: the Ontario Reptile and Amphibian Survey Course and the Ontario Snake Habitat Course.
The Ontario Reptile and Amphibian Survey Course provides participants with an in-depth understanding of reptile and amphibian biology, behaviour, identification, habitat, and standardized survey techniques. Approximately half of the course involves classroom-based instruction, while the other half takes place in the field through hands-on learning. The course maintains a low instructor-to-participant ratio, approximately one instructor for every five participants, to ensure high-quality, personalized learning.
The Ontario Snake Habitat Course is delivered in collaboration with Toadally Restored and taught by experts involved in the development of Ontario’s snake habitat best management practices. The course focuses on identifying, assessing, managing, enhancing, and creating habitat for Ontario’s species at risk snakes through a combination of virtual lectures and hands-on field sessions.
Registration for the Ontario Snake Habitat Course is now open! If you are interested in attending or would like additional information about the course, please contact training@blazingstar.ca to request a registration form or discuss any questions you may have.
